About Us
Gratitude and resourcefulness are fundamental pillars of our publication, rooted in the belief that when life gives you lemons, making lemonade is not merely a cliché, but a profound ethos. We are grateful for the opportunity to explore the complexities of the human experience, even its bitter aspects, through the transformative power of storytelling.
In our quest to curate pieces that delve into the nuanced depth of humanity, we value the resourcefulness of our contributors in crafting works that navigate life's challenges with resilience and authenticity. Through introspection and growth, we aim to create a balanced and delicious 'lemonade' of literary expression that inspires both our readers and ourselves.
We are four different individuals that crossed paths at San Diego State University. Connecting in our Literary Publishing and Editing class, our professor prompted us with a challenge: create a literary magazine and make it special. Amidst our different passions, finals, midterms, jobs, and personal conundrums, we can all agree that these are the good ole days. So why not cherish them, vocalize them, and document them – both the bitter and the sweet. Thus, Bittersweet Magazine was born.
